Stand Firm
Written by Luke L.
Read Mark 13:9-11
"When these things begin to happen, watch out! You will be handed over to the local councils and beaten in the synagogues. You will stand trial before governors and kings because you are my followers. But this will be your opportunity to tell them about me. For the Good News must first be preached to all nations. But when you are arrested and stand trial, don’t worry in advance about what to say. Just say what God tells you at that time, for it is not you who will be speaking, but the Holy Spirit.”
(Mark 13:9-11 NLT)
It is written that one day, we will be persecuted for following Jesus. As those days draw nearer and nearer, we must stand firm and not waiver, even when judged by the makers of law. This is the instance where God has called us to not only stand firm in His Word, but to tell them about Jesus and how much He has changed your life.
This is a life lesson for all of us. In times of your greatest struggle or trial, fix your eyes of Jesus, as it is surely a learning lesson with a purpose behind it. As Jesus explains here, consider it great joy to be persecuted, because that means you are truly making a difference. People that are making little gain, or noise, for the Kingdom have no reason to be persecuted. Be loud and proud for Jesus!
Prayer:
Father God, I pray for boldness right now. That even when I am persecuted or judged, I don't focus on my external circumstances, but I focus on You. Jesus, I pray that You use me in every circumstance. Have Your way in me and through me, In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
