Day One: Prayer & Fasting
Day One.
”Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end.“
Ecclesiastes 3:11 NLT
We were created to enjoy God and live in Union with Him.
We are restless until we find rest in Him.
We fast to re-align ourselves with our Creator and His will for our lives.
Pay attention to that longing deep down in your soul that craves for more of God.
Feed it, by fasting.
There are THREE key elements of a spiritual fast:
1. Worship - fill your car, House, and if your allowed your workspace with worship music
2. Word - spent time reading the Bible or listen to it. Take big chunks in like you are eating a meal
3. Prayer - talk to God all day and try to listen to His voice. Keep a prayer journal
Make an INTENTIONAL decision to be at prayer tonight and every night this week.
”Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world. Let there be tears for what you have done. Let there be sorrow and deep grief. Let there be sadness instead of laughter, and gloom instead of joy. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up in honor.“
James 4:8-10 NLT
