The Lord as our Shepherd
The Lord as Our Shepherd
Psalm 23:1-6, John 10:11-18
As we begin our journey through Psalm 23, we're reminded of the beautiful metaphor of God as our Shepherd. David, drawing from his own experience as a shepherd, paints a vivid picture of God's care for us.
Just as a shepherd provides for, protects, and guides his sheep, our Heavenly Father does the same for us. Jesus later reinforces this image by calling Himself the Good Shepherd who lays down His life for His sheep.
Today, reflect on your dependence on God. In what areas of your life do you need to trust Him more fully?
Remember, the quality of our lives depends on the quality of our Shepherd – and we have the best one possible in our Lord.
