Listen To Wisdom Not Hype.

If you continue to trace the legacy of David past his son Solomon, you get to Rehoboam,
which is Solomon’s son, who takes the throne after Solomon dies.
The elders told Rehoboam to lighten the load and take it easy on the people and they will be loyal to him. But, here is how Rehoboam responded:
“But Rehoboam rejected the advice the elders gave him and consulted the young men who had grown up with him and were serving him.”
1 Kings 12:8 NIV
Instead of listening to his elders, he decided to go with the advice of his boys and that was a terrible decision, that lead to major division of the Kingdom. Israel was never the same again.
This is why I am not a fan of the cool uncles and aunties who have NO spiritual discernment.
People who don't want to tell the truth nor rock the boat and tell people what they want to hear is a major recipe for disaster.
It is stunning how many people wreck their lives over bad advice from people they should never listen to.
And how many people will “fish” for advice that will only tickle their ears.
“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.”
Proverbs 1:7 NIV
