beware of labels.

Beware of labels.
Our society is obsessed with labels.
You can’t no longer enjoy a cheat meal because it labels the calories.
Labels everywhere.
Dont get me wrong.
We need labels.
They are important and serve a purpose.
But, like with everything else we can go overboard.
Now, you see people labeling (identifying) themselves with dysfunction.
You hear people say things like:
"My anxiety"
"My fathers wounds"
"My addiction"
"My sexual preference"

As believers, our identity is found in Christ alone:
“This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!”
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭5‬:‭17‬ ‭NLT‬‬
In Christ we are:
Forgiven
Justified
Accepted
Now, we will have struggles, but we give those things to Jesus over and over again until we are fully healed and released from them.
We do not identify ourselves with dysfunction.
Our identity is found in Christ.
We say:
My Lord
My Savior
My redeemer
My righteousness
My healer
My restorer
My God
