Purpose In Action

Mark 12:13-17

As human beings we tend to want everything to ourselves, it’s all about me, what can I get, how do I profit, how do I get the most advantage. In a sense it connects to tithing, it’s part of our human nature to want to keep it all, as your spirit directs you to give. Doubt comes into play and says things like “what if” and makes you question, because of your needs, whether financial or resourceful. However, God is saying let go and trust me. He is your provider. He supplies you with enough, and more than what you thought you needed.

As you read Mark 12:13-17, Jesus is saying give back what wasn’t yours to begin with. We weren’t made to rely on money as if it were our God. Money is a resource that we use for provision. It’s not an idol in which we worship for its purpose, as we were made to serve the true living God, our Father in Heaven who is more than willing to fulfill our every need. Therefore don’t let your flesh block out what the spirit is prompting you towards.

Prayer: Father God, thank You that as we’ve made it this far into the book of Mark, that You’ve spoken to us, that little details have bounced directly to our situations. Lord thank You that through these past few weeks You’ve been revealing your promises and plans for our lives, that while we may feel lost, You’re right there by our sides directing us in the right direction. Lord, I pray that while money may be a good resource that it doesn’t affect our relationship with You. That You may continue to humble us and mold us into the people you desired for us to become. Thank You Lord for who You are, we love You and thank You, in Your Holy name we pray, Amen.
