Why Must I Wait?
Written by: Richie L.
Why must I wait? Have I been forgotten? Why is there silence from God?
These questions can really force a chasm between us and God if we simply allow our selfish emotions to provide the answers.
It is very easy for us to be filled with the noise of this world and not in tune to the whispers of God. The enemy will continue to press into us that what we feel as a lack of response is truth that we have been forgotten by a God who doesn’t exist. The longer we wait, the longer the drought, the more the doubt. BUT GOD...
God has given us the choice to have a relationship with Him, the choice to accept Jesus as our Savior, and the choice to love Him. He will not force these things upon us, just as He will not force us into heaven. He shows us the way to accomplish this throughout scripture, and it is not based on our own merits. “For no one can ever be made right with God by doing what the law commands. The law simply shows us how sinful we are… We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are.” (Romans 3:20, 22 NLT) We are meant to walk by faith, and not by sight. So if we feel we have been forgotten, feel as though we are in a drought or walking through a dessert for 40 years, we must turn to God, as He is the answer, the solution and the only one who will truly satisfy our soul. We can’t will God into a response in our own timing (right now). We are to wait on His perfect timing.
